Plumful

Hey everyone!

Hope the weekend is going swelllll for you all! In this post I shall be sharing with you my first MAC item ever!!!! Plumful lipstick.

My bbg brought this back for me when she went to Europe ($11 cheaper over there if you exchange it), and I am in love. In Australia, MAC lipsticks cost $36 -way over priced.

These lipsticks smell subtly of vanilla, MMmmmMm! You can't smell it when it's on the lips though.

This lipstick is a lustre finish. I'm no MAC expert, but from what I know, lustre lipsticks tend to be on the sheer side. They're not drying at all and have a bit of a sheen to them. They are very comparable to the Revlon Lip Butters, however more pigmented and a tiny bit heavier in texture. It lasts a 'normal' amount of time. Not long lasting because it is a little glossy, however doesn't just slide off the lips.

Plumful is a beauuuuuut-i-ful plum shade. Medium pink colour which is so flattering and very wearable. Perfect for Winter and Autumn, but you could also get away with it in the warmer months. I find this colour is very comparable to Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum, however Plumful is a bit more pink.

The left swatch is Plumful swatched once, as you can see, pretty sheer. On the right is it built up, it's pretty much as dark as it will go. As you can see, there is a sheen which is really pretty. (Don't mind the streak on my hand, it's just a shadow).

This is it on my lips! I really love it. Now... time to buy everything else from MAC!

What's in my jar

Hey everyone,

Question: is this glass thing even a jar?
Answer: unknown.

The glass thing was a shitty Ikea candle, until I removed all the wax. Now it stores the products I use very regularly. It's quite handy, all my stuff sits nicely on my table and it's very accessible.

This does not colour correct..... once you smooth it over your face, it's transparent. Nevertheless, I apply it when I know I'm going to have a long day.

On an everyday basis (at school), I wear concealer. I like this one, it works and it's not too drying on the skin.

My eyelids get oily, and even though I don't wear eyeshadow, this primer keeps my eyelids matte, which helps my mascara not smudge as well. I love it!

I use this basically every day. Keeps a curl! Yay!

I don't wear this to school, but I often wear it on weekends because it's a very natural shade and lasts a very long time on the lips.

I don't wear this to school either, but again, on weekends I whip this bad boy out. It's a 'my lips but better' shade. It's quite sofisticated too, I think.

Although it claims it's waterproof, I really don't feel like it is. I wear it on my waterline... and nothing stays there. Also, I'm always tired which means I'm always yawning. And I look like I'm crying half the time, when my eyes are just watery.

Eyelash curlers
These work fine. My friend brought them back from Korea for me. Everyone raves on about Shu Uemura eyelash curlers, but I have never tried them. Maybe when these break, I'll fork out the big bucks. (I don't even know how much they are).

Hope this gave you some ideas of what to integrate into your every day makeup!

Products I have used up

Helllllo!

This is the rubbish I've collected over some time..........
This will hopefully give you a quick and good insight into my thoughts on the products, since I have used up the whole product.

This has 1 vital vitamin??! 0 alcohol, no perfumes or colour. It contains 25 wipes, and states it removes waterproof mascara... but not my telescopic! Other than that, the wipes remove all my other make up. These didn't break me out either! I would repurchase this, but I'd like to try different ones as well.

2. Herbal Essences Split End Protection Mask
This smells so nice -red raspberry & satin (what does satin smell like?). I shampooed and conditioned my hair, then left this in for a while (recommended 3 minutes) then rinse out. It's not amazing, but it is decent. Does make your hair feel soft and look shiny.

This contains mango seed oil and is for 'VERY DRY SKIN'. This is very thick and I only put it on my elbows and knees, and it was very moisturizing. I would repurchase, maybe in a different scent though just to switch thangs up.

This moisturizer is a good one! Not life changing, but good and I liked it. It comes with a pump which is really good, and it's also quite thin, contains SPF so good for summer weather.

5. Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel
This was limited edition from Christmas. This smells just like fairy floss and I like it!! It had shimmers in it, but  (obviously) it didn't show up on the skin. It lathers really well on a loofah. It's just a typical shower gel, not moisturizing, not stripping.

This ain't no (foot) cream... this is a thick ass gel like paste! It's very thick, smells minty and I'm not crazy about it. I much prefer the Soap and Glory Heel Genius. I wouldn't repurchase this.

These are 'made from 100% pure cotton'! These are fine, not much to say. I really want to try exfoliating cotton rounds, but I have never seen them in the pharmacies in Australia, although Ingrid from missglamorazzi uses them.

8. Clearasil Vitamins & Extracts Daily Wash
Does this even count? I used it twice as a mask, and once as a face wash. So I didn't get a good use out of it. Might pick it up one day if I run out of a face wash.

Everyone loves this mascara and unfortunately it didn't work for me. I've now realised that I must only buy waterproof mascara, because that is the only way my lashes will stay curled. If you were to have amazing long lashes already, this would be a great mascara for you. It gives you a good amount of definition that looks natural. It separates, doesn't clump and lengthens a little bit. Unfortunately for me, my eyelashes look like THIS. Therefore, shall stick to my trusty telescopic mascara.

May Favourites 2013

Hello, it's Viv!

Another month, another favourites post!

1. Absolute Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
There's so many people who swear by coconut oil, and now I'm going to be one of those people. It's multipurpose, cheap, readily available, healthy omg this list goes on! I think I will go into further detail in another post.

Soft grunge? Yes please. This $20 chunky gold necklace is from Forever New, a shop I don't usually shop in, but it has a few good pieces. This necklace spices up a boring outfit, and I am in love with it. It's really nice quality, although it's really heavy.

I mentioned this in my last haul post, and have since been loving it! It makes the nails look so clean and polished. Also, an appropriate colour for any season.

I got this mini cuticle creme in a kit for awhile now, and have been using it consistently this month. Just before I go to bed, I rub it into my dry and gross cuticles and it's really nice and lemony!

*Squeals* This actually removes my L'oreal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara!!!! Miracle!! Soak this baby onto a cotton pad, hold it on your eyes for a few seconds, swipe and it's gone! :D :D :D! 1/2 oil and 1/2 eye makeup remover means the oil can actually break down the oil based waterproof mascara. So good.

Great concealer! It's not cakey and dry which I like. Decent coverage as well. Me-likey!

Now, all the hype is around the Batiste and I agree it's good, but it makes my dark brown hair white and powdery which does not look good. This dry shampoo sprays out a brown power which is much more suitable for my hair! Quite good as soaking up the grease too!

Oh dayum. This smells so good! This makes me grin every time I have a shower. It just smells so good, I want to saturate myself in it! It was a gift from my friend Tara -hehe thank you <3.

Hope you liked this!

Haul #2

Hey hey kiddies, it's Viv.

Every time I see him my eyes flutter, and I feel giddy inside. I feel nervous, and my palms start to sweat because soon enough.... MY WALLET WILL BE EMPTY. I have a love hate relationship with chemist warehouse, Priceline, Kit and all other shops that contain beauty items. I picked these things up recently, and thought I'd show you.

Tresemme Heat Tamper Protective Spray. I haven't used the heat protective spray yet, but everyone raves on about it. Apparently it smells nice, aye?
Toni&Guy Smoothing Detangler. I've always wanted to try Tony&Guy products! The detangler is really good, it actually detangles. The only thing is, it's not a spray which you spray all over your hair. You pump some in your hand, and smooth it all over your wet or dry hair. Means I have to wipe my hands after.
Toni&Guy Sea Salt Texturising Spray. Since I've recently chopped and donated my hair, I've been wanting to go for that messy look. This sure does it!

Sukin Cleansing Lotion. I have 1/4 of my current cleanser left, so I thought I'd just pick this up. It was on sale, so I thought might as well. It's also sulphate & paraben free -you go glen co co.
Origins Drink Up Intensive Over Night Mask. Everyone talks about this, and I get dry patches on my face so I thought I'd give it a go. Firstly, it smells so damn nice omg ahhhhhhhh. Secondly, it really does do it's job. Thirdly, go get you some!
Origins Super Spot Remover. Everyone talks about this, as well. It's pretty decent. I don't find that it can remove a spot over night, but once it drys on your face, you can really feel it drying out the spot.

Soap & Glory Heel Genius Foot Cream. Okay, let's make this quick, because ain't no body got time for feet-talk. This smells nice, I like it. That's it.

Revlon Just Bittin' Kissable Balm Stain (Honey). I love this! It adds just the right amount of colour onto my lips, and stays all day long.
Revlon Photoready Cream Blush (Coral Reef). I've been dying to try one of these blushes! These blushes are a cream to power formula. They're not where near as pigmented as they look, and when you blend them out, they turn out quite sheer. Which is nice, because you can't go wrong with them.
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal eyeliner (012 Bronze). I really like this eyeliner! It's a brown, with shimmer in it. Really pretty, and really creamy too, so it doesn't drag on your eyes.
Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamel (Bare Bones). Ever since Essiebutton mentioned this, I have wanted it. It's so simple, yet I love it so much. It makes your hands look classy and polished.

Basic Skin

Hey, it's Viv.

This is my (basic) skincare routine. I have been using these Grown products consistently, day and night, for about 4 months now and I've been really enjoying them. I had tried and used up their Matte Balancing: Acai Berry & Borago Facial Moisturizer which I loved, and was interested to use more of their products. I bought this set from Myer, for $48, and it was originally $69.95. Here are my thoughts.

MY SKIN: It is combination. My T zone gets oily, but I also have dry patches (which I think have pretty much gone since I started using Origins moisture mask!). I have small spots on my face usually, and the occasional big boy... other than that, it's pretty normal.

THE BRAND: Grown sells botanical beauty products. Their products are all natural and organic. They are sulphate free (and a whole lot of other things that are good for you). Also, they don't test on animals! This brand is on the pricey side as well. You can find their products in Priceline, Myer and David Jones.

Geranium Leaf, Bergamot & Rose-bud Facial Cleanser $39.95
This is a gentle gel cleanser. It suggests that it 'removes impurities from sensitive facial skin allowing skin to breathe freely without drying or leaving a greasy feel.' I couldn't agree more. Many gel cleansers leave my skin feeling as stripped as a stripper, but this is really gentle. It doesn't remove waterproof eye make up, but that doesn't bother me too much. It's meant to decongest your skin and assist in preventing spots, as well as calm and moisturize. It's not the best at preventing spots, but it definitely hasn't broken me out. It smells quite please, and I am a great fan of this.

Rose: Absolute Ginseng & Chamomile Facial Toner $29.95
This is the first toner I have used over a long period of time, and let me tell you -I like it! Again, it's not drying. It's quite refreshing and I feel like it injects some more moisture back into my skin. I feel like this toner has also made my skin really soft. I really like this toner, and would recommend it to any one!

Camellia & Geranium Blossom Facial Moisturizer $48.95
This moisturizer is amazing! Firstly, a little bit goes a long way. It's quite a thin consistency. Secondly, it gives you the perfect amount of moisture you need, not so you're face goes greasy, not so your face is crackly and dry -hallelujah!

I'm a big fan of Grown products. What they stand for seems really legit, and I like that they put good 'stuff' into their products. They know what they're talking about! I don't know what all this geranium blossom and ginseng is meant to do for you, but all I know it works great for me! I really do recommend you check these products out. As I got these items in a set, and when they were on sale, I saved a lot of money. If I were to buy them without a promotion and separately, it would cost me $118.85. Holy moly. Saved myself $70.85. Last thing, I love the packaging. It's so authentic & classy looking. 10/10 Grown!

Beauty Favs

Hi, I'm Viv.

Here are a few beauty items that I am currently in love with and would like to share with the world.

This $20 foundation is medium coverage and gives a 'my face is so plump and moisturized' look, in other words... dewy. It has tiny shimmer bits in the foundation, which you can only see if you're in sunlight. It's a 'i'm a unicorn mermaid' shimmer, not a 'shine bright like my forehead' shimmer. Let's just make that clear. I love this foundation for the weekend!
It looks flawless on my hand!
This blush palette is in the colour Lace. I haven't had this for very long, yet I'm in love with this compact palette (with a huge ass mirror) already! Pigmentation is great, colours are beautiful and they blend pretty well too. The 1st colour is a gorgeous matte peachy orange, good for warm weather (which Melbourne is not approaching). The 2nd colour is a natural pink colour with gold shimmers in it. The picture really does not do justice, it's gorgeous! The 3rd colour, a matte coral pink, dayuuuum. This palette is $20, and you get 3 good quality blushes, I think it's a good deal.

I love this colour, Bad to the Bronze. It's a cream shadow that is a shimmery bronze colour, and it's badass. My eyelids are oily, and this baby doesn't crease on me, even without a primer! Although the colour tough as taupe did crease on me... it's super nice by itself and easy to blend as well! This is $11.95.

Honestly, need I say more? Just look at those eye shadows. Dayum gurl!!! This thing fell from Heaven or something... lol what I paid $54.78 for this. Very worth it, you are getting 12 shadows after all, and a primer potion as well as a brush! Go get you some of this if you (or your mum, cat, neighbour, cousin, pet unicorn) don't have it already.

I finally found the perfect lipstick. I have the shade 07 (boring, Kate!). The texture is smooth and creamy, doesn't settle into the cracks of my lips! It lasts for a decent amount of time, and the best thing... It's the perfect shade for me. It's a pinky brown nude 'my lips but better' shade. This is always the lipstick I reach for if I'm wearing a colour. It's cheap too! $11.95 but it always goes on sale at Priceline.

Hope you enjoyed this one.
